Sir,
If an assessee has paid premium of 2.5 lakhs on a single policy(not more than 20% of the sum assured), Can it be claimed by both the assessee and his spouse.
1.5 lakhs by the assessee and balance 1 lakh by his spouse.

No 80C benefit can be availed only by individual who has paid the premium.
