40 a (3) of income tax

16 November 2013 SIR/MADAM,

ELECTRICITY CHARGES PAID IN CASH ATTRACTED THE SECTION 40 A (3) OF THE INCOME TAX ACT. SINCE THE PAYMENT IS MADE TO GOVERNMENT.

PLEASE GIVE ME THE ANSWER.

17 November 2013 Electricity charges paid in cash is technically covered by the provision of Section 40A(3) and would prima-facie attract a dis-allowance.

29 November 2013 THANK YOU SIR,

BUT THE PAYMENT CAN CONSIDER EXCEPTIONS UNDER RULE 6DD (
(b) where the payment is made to the Government)

ELECTRICITY CHARGE PAID TO GOVERNMENT, THEREFORE CAN OPT RULE 6DD?
