Is son purchases a property in mother's name and avail loan on house property and pays EMI by himself. Who is eligible to take a benefit of EMI on house loan . Is it a gift?

If it is housing loan then his name MUST be there on the said property, else bank would NOT have given the housing loan..... Please confirm........
