what is Ex-gratia? will it be included in employee's gross income and is it coming under FBT?

Ex-Gratia is taxable to the employees under section 17(3) as profit in lieu of salary and hence will not attract FBT.

Ex-Gratia is just like bonus (an emolument from the employer).
