I have paid tax on wrong PAN Number and challana was on my name. Is there any procedure for rectification ?

29 October 2008 u may be aware give or mentioning a wrong pan no is an penalty,what my instinct says is take the copy of the pan challan,the bank statement where the amount is being debited is be shown along with the letter and meet your income tax  circle inspector/officer he is the right person to guide u
