working hours during articleship

19 January 2008 As per institutes rule normal working hours are 35 per week. But it seems that many CA firm force to article assistant to work at least 7 to 8 hours per day (42 to 48 hours). & they have to do. Could you pls suggest what can be done in this situation?

19 January 2008 You have to adjust to the same as later when you require leave and even some early offs in the non-peak situations you can take that. ICAI has prescribed minimum 35 hours and not maximum. Also please do not panic as once you are accustomed things will fall in place. Good Luck.
