Can you any body tell me what is the withholding tax.
What is the concept of with holding tax.

25 February 2010 Withholding tax is tax payable by you to govt. but withhold by the person making payment & pays to govt.

In easy terms it will be tax deducted at source.

25 February 2010 Yeah. Withholding tax is just another name of TDS. This term is generally used out of india in their tax laws. In India, TDS is the word used.
