Why there is difference between f16/16a & 26as-reasons any??

Hi,
I am articled student working @ bangalore, currently we got a Reconciliation work for one MNC coy about TDS between their Ledgers VS F16A vs 26AS.there i sorted out a huge difference between all of these.We are Digging all their data from FY05-06.
Can any one pls tell atleast the reasons for mismatch between F16A & 26AS!!

A: The double standard used by the businessman in issuing f16/f16A and filing the TDS return. B: Surprisingly one more difference is noticed which is DISGUSTING. There is a difference between the 26AS as displayed to assessee and 26AS as displayed to IT department.
