Whether old tin is cancelled temporarily or permanent?

02 June 2015 what if vat depts website in know your tin is showing vat number cancelled. Does it mean that for vat purpose i have to apply again and my old tin is no more mine. Can now i register vat again without any proceedings of previous tin no.

03 June 2015 PROBABLE REASON FOR CANCELLATION MAY BE
1. YOU DO NOT FILE VAT RETURN FOR LONG TIME
2. NOT REPLYING TO NOTICE
3. TAX PAYMENT DEFAULTER

VISIT DEPARTMENT AND ASK FOR THE REASON AND IF YOUR VAT NUMBER ALLOTTED TO SOMEONE ELSE YOU HAVE TO APPLY FOR FRESH ONE PROVIDED PREVIOUS CANCELLATION MATTER SORT OUT
