in the first year of registration you are exempt from holding cpe seminar but after that if you hold cop then within 2 years of period you need to complete cpe credit for 60 hours of structure and 30 hours of unstructured learning.

Hereโs how CPE (Continuing Professional Education) requirements apply to you as a newly registered CA:
Since you got registered on 1st Nov 2012, you were exempt from CPE hours for that calendar year (2012) โ so, exempt till 31st Dec 2012.
For the financial year 2013-14, you are required to complete CPE hours because your exemption only covered the remainder of the year you got registered.
Since you do not hold a Certificate of Practice (COP), the CPE requirement is lower:
You need to complete 30 hours of structured learning and
15 hours of unstructured learning within two years from the date of registration.
So yes, for FY 2013-14 onwards, you should plan to complete the applicable CPE hours as per ICAI guidelines.
