my question is that if head office is in hydrabad and its branch off in mumbai n pune then whether branches also req to apply vat no even though company possess vat no ?????????

you have HO in Hyderabad & Branch in Mumbai or Pune, then Two different state come to picture, Seperate VAT Registration is require for branch office.
If you have branch within the state, then sep. REg is not require
