How to know whether your service is applicable for Service Tax ?
Also once you know this, if your service is covered, then is it compulsory to apply for Service Tax No. even if your turnover does not cross the thresh-hold limit?

Service tax number has to be applied for when the aggregate amount of billing crosses Rs. 9 lakhs.
