I am not getting a clear answer that if a individual keeps Rs 40 lakhs in a saving bank account as on 31st march wether its liable to wealth tax.

Not liable to wealth tax because bank balance is not an asset within the meaning of section 2(ea) of The Wealth tax Act,1957.
