Very very ugent... starting sole propritership

01 July 2012 Dear All,

One of my client going is to start sole propertership consisting of his wife as only one person as sole propriter..
( Not goods sale but Service tax applicable)

In this regards

1) What is procedure to incorporate Sole Propertership.. is it the same like company as per the comapnis act 1956.

2) Is it possiable having only one peron as sole properter( His wife)
2) What are the other formalaties like
Pan card, Registration etc....

3) What about Service tax registration & formalities....

02 July 2012 No special requirement is there for setting-up any sole proprietorship business.

Sole proprietorship business should have only 1 person, if there are more than 1 then it would be called as partnership or something else? In that case some incorporation formalities are there.

As you say, service tax is applicable you need the following:-
1) PAN card in the anme of the Proprietor
2) Application for Service Tax Registration.
