Very urgent-recovery notice

12 August 2018 Assessee has received notice for recovery for a.y. 2008-09.
Assessee has received compensation in f.y. 2007-08 regarding death of her husband at work. But it was not shown in ROI. Further TDS was deducted from compensation was adjusted against demand.

Assessee does not have any other taxable income.
Then how to go further with response to the notice????

12 August 2018 Reply to the notice as compensation received is capital receipt exempt from tax. Request withdrawal of demand notice.

12 August 2018 sir, if it is a capital receipt, why did the employer deduct TDS? most probably they paid it is taxable pension.

Limpsum compensation for death at work is a capital receipt.
