can anyone please explain me how vat credit, cst and excise can be set off ?????

Excise has no link with either CST or VAT.VAT paid on interstate sales can be set off from CST.CST paid on interstate purhases can not be claimed as set off in local/IS sales from VAT.In each state the conditions vary......MJK
