Under **Karnataka VAT**, here are the details for **VAT Audit conditions** as of around 2010:
### 1. **Turnover Limit for VAT Audit**
* VAT audit is **mandatory if the turnover exceeds Rs. 1 crore** in the relevant financial year. * This limit is for **gross turnover** (total turnover including sales, stock transfers, etc.).
### 2. **Does the turnover include URD (Unregistered Dealers) sales?**
* Yes, **turnover includes sales to unregistered dealers (URD)** as well. * The total turnover includes **all sales made, whether to registered dealers or unregistered dealers**, as well as local sales, interstate sales, and stock transfers.
### 3. **What about purchases?**
* The audit mainly focuses on **sales turnover** but purchases and input tax credits are also examined during the audit for compliance.
### Summary:
| Criteria | Details | | ------------------ | ------------------------------------------ | | Turnover Threshold | ₹1 crore (Gross Turnover) | | Includes URD Sales | Yes, URD sales are included | | Applicable For | Dealers registered under Karnataka VAT Act |
---
If turnover crosses ₹1 crore, the dealer must get their accounts audited by a Chartered Accountant or a Cost Accountant and submit the audit report (Form VAT-XXX) along with the VAT return.
