pls confirm vat audit is necessary for the fiscal year 2012 - 2013.
i am in Tamilnadu, chennai ,my registered delear's turnover for the above 2 cores

Under Dvat, If Gross Turnover is more than Rs. 10 Crore then vat audit is mandatory.

In Kerala VAT act if the turnover is not less than Rs. 60 lakhs, VAT audit is mandatory.

For Tamil Nadu, for the Financial Year 2012-13, **VAT audit is mandatory if the turnover exceeds ₹1 crore**.
Since your registered dealer's turnover is above ₹2 crore, **VAT audit is definitely required**.
The audit report should be prepared in the prescribed Form WW under Tamil Nadu VAT rules, and it must be submitted by the due date (usually by 31st December following the end of the financial year).
