valuation of shares(net asset mehtod)

22 March 2011 while calculating net assets fair value of investment( non trading) are to be considered. but which value will be fair value, either it is market value, cost or ant other. pls reply early

22 March 2011 What is the objective?

Fair value by its definition is a value between 2 willing parties (buyer and seller) who are at arms length.

For non-trading asset, fair value could be arrived at using different methods, like DCF, etc.

24 March 2011 thanx sir 4 quick reply. the objective is to valuation of share by net asset method.ii ve to add the value of investments in asset. so which value is considered of investment in net assets of co.

27 March 2011 If it is net asset value (break-up) value, we should assume all assets are sold at market prices.

All assets should be valued at net realisable values.
