Utilization of cenvat credit

Service Tax department is raised tax demand pertains to FY 2010-11. We have enough un-utilized CENVAT Credit from the period Dec 2012. Whether we can utilize this Credit available to pay the liability pertains to 2010-11? Is it right to calculate the interest till the date of availability of CENVAT Credit (ie.Dec 2012)?

On the due date of payment cenvat credit not available hence can't be utilized.
