22 August 2011 DEAR SIR/MADAM,
MY FRIEND IS WORKING IN A PROPRIETORSHIP FIRM.HIS EMPLOYER GIVE HIM FORM 16 FOR A.Y.2011-12.

BUT IN FORM 16 TAX DEDUCTED IS ONLY FOR 2 MONTHS, BUT IN 26AS TAX IS DEDUCTED FOR 12 MONTHS.

FOR BALANCE 9 MONTHS TAX IS DEDUCTED & DEPOSITED ON THE TAN OF CHIEF MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT (TAN-KNPC01454F,STATE OF BOOKING-P).

MY FRIEND DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT AMT OF 9 MONTHS,CREDITED IN HIS ACCOUNT BY CHIEF MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT.

PLS. SUGGEST ME IN DETAIL.

I ALSO CONFUSE,SIR...ABOUT MEDICAL SUPERIDENTEND..INSTEAD OF EMPLOYER NAME,BUT IN THREE MONTHS EMPLOYER NAME IS CORRECT.
SAME PROBLEM IS IN A.Y.2010-11

22 August 2011 your question is not clear. total tax deducted is therefore 9+2 i.e, 11 months only?
Proprietor has remitted tax in the name of chief medical superintendent? what is the connection or has it been done by mistake?
It is necessary for your friend to have it clarified from his employer. May be wrong tan was inadvertently used and it has to be corrected with a correction tds retur.
