* **PCC (Preliminary Course to IPCC transfer)**: This isn’t exactly a “transfer” of articleship; it’s more like changing your registration status with ICAI from PCC level student to IPCC level student.
* When you move from PCC to IPCC registration, **your articleship period continues** with the same firm. ICAI expects you to complete the full 3 years (or 3.5 years if applicable) of articleship with the same principal unless you get a proper transfer approved.
* **Changing firms** requires a formal **transfer of articleship** under ICAI rules — just changing from PCC to IPCC registration **does NOT automatically allow you to switch firms**.
* If your current principal is not agreeing to a transfer, you cannot simply shift firms by moving from PCC to IPCC level. The firm change requires approval of termination/transfer by ICAI.
* You **can appear for IPCC exams** once registered and having done the orientation program, but your articleship must continue legally.

**In short:**
* You **cannot change your firm** just by moving from PCC to IPCC registration.
* To change firms, you must apply for **articleship transfer** with valid reasons and get approval from ICAI.
* Meanwhile, yes, you can appear for IPCC exams after completing orientation.
