My question is whether to deduct tax at source U/s 194C(Contractors tds)

16 September 2011 If material is not purchased from the awarder, no need to deduct tax u/s 194C since the job entrusted will not come under the definition of 'work' given in the said section. The law is unabiguously clear by virtue of the substituted section ,194C,effective from 1/10/2009.
