After filing TDS Return , it rejected with reason " Total amount of Tax deposited validation failed ( Sum of Tax + Interest + Surcharge + Others + Fee Should be equal to total Challan Amount.
What is the solution for this rejection.
Note: Actually I have splited only DEDUCTIONS of this challan for different quarters. But, I didn't splitted the challan.

The error **"Total amount of Tax deposited validation failed (Sum of Tax + Interest + Surcharge + Others + Fee should be equal to total Challan Amount)"** typically occurs during TDS return validation when:
### ๐ **Cause of the Error:**
* The **amount breakup** in the **deductee details (Annexure)** **does not match** the **challan amount** entered in the challan details section. * **Common mistakes**:
1. You've **allocated deductions from the same challan to multiple quarters** without **splitting the challan**. 2. **Total of TDS + Interest + Fee, etc.** in deductee entries **exceeds or is less than** the challan amount.
---
### โ **Solution:**
#### Step 1: **Split the Challan Properly**
* If you're using **one challan** to cover **multiple quarters**, you **must split the challan amount** appropriately in each return. * For each quarter, include **only the portion of the challan used** for that quarter.
#### Step 3: **Update Return Using Correct RPU Version**
* Use the **latest RPU (Return Preparation Utility)** and **FVU (File Validation Utility)** available from [NSDL website](https://www.tin-nsdl.com).
#### Step 4: **File Revised Return**
* Prepare a **revised return** using the corrected breakup and **re-validate**. * You may need to request and use a **Consolidated File (Conso file)** and **CSI file** from **TRACES**.
---
### ๐ Example:
If the challan paid is โน10,000 and youโre using it for:
* **Q1:** โน6,000 * **Q2:** โน4,000
Then:
* In Q1 return: enter โน6,000 in the challan details. * In Q2 return: enter โน4,000 in the challan details.
