In new RPU version 3.8 a column added in challan details 'Interest to be allocated/apportioned'. Please reply the meaning of this column.

sometimes a single challan may be used to pay interest for various quarters...in such a case, you can apportion part of the amount to particular quarter and remaining to the other relevant quarters..
