23 July 2013 Wheather TDS is apllicable to payment to Private Transport Co for railway freight paid on our behalf. Railway Receipt bears our company name and also Transport company raised the same amount of bill that is mentioned in railway receipt.

23 July 2013 TDS not applicable but keep the PAN of the Private Transport Company.

23 July 2013 Yes Section 194C will not apply since its railway transport but you are not making payment to railways you are making payment to Private Transport Company so its better to keep the PAN Card.

23 July 2013 sir that trasport co. is only the road tranporter they only paid that amount to railway co, on our behalf then also tds is applicable?

23 July 2013 TDS not required to be deducted in any case provided you take their PAN.
