TDS realted

This query is : Resolved

03 August 2010 I have made the entry for commission exp. and I have to deduct TDS for the same.

Suppose my client is a large tax payer unit.
So the amount of commission is in crores.

Now if due to mistake in calculating commison it needs to be reversed.

But the TDS already deducted is paid to the govt.

So I cannot reverse the TDS amount already deducted.

So I need to give the certificate for the actual amount of tds deducted.

I want to confirm is this correct or not?

03 August 2010 yes its correct.

03 August 2010 You may issue certificate to comply with the provisions of section 203. If not issued penalty can be proposed under section 272A(2)(g) of the Income tax Act,1961.
