This query is : Resolved

17 January 2016 Sir
I had paid TDS @1% on purchase of house property, but my income chargable to tax below the limit of Rs.250000/- and my income will be clubbed with my spouse income,
can I claim deduction/ adjust this TDS paid against income tax payable by my spouse

thanx in advance

regards

17 January 2016 If you have purchased a property then the TDS paid by you will go to the credit of the seller. You and your wife should not worry of that amount. You have paid lesser amount to the vendor of the property up to the amount of TDS and if you have made full payment ask the seller to refund the TDS money paid by you.
