Hi,
TDS on stipend should be deducted under section 192 (Salaries) or under section 194J (professional fees)?

Hi riddhi. I think it should be deduted u/s 192 i.e rate applicable on salary. The articles works as employees under the principal and beside this they have not any professional capacity to give their services in their articleship period. It is only after clearing of C.A exams, articles got qualified or professional. So the rate Should be rate of salary.

I am also of the opinion that it shoud be deducted u/s 192 but I need some evidence for the same may be some section or ruling as my principal demands the same from me.
