10 July 2008 salary for the month of December is booked on 1st of January and paid on 15th of January

Tax deducted on 1st of January itself

TDS is to be paid on which date?
Whether on 7th of January or 7th of February?

11 July 2008 Liability for the salay was arised in dec month it self. for eg march month salary liability will arise in march month only. so it arises in december month only. irrespective of your records , it was arised on dec . so u need to pay on or before 7th jan.

This is my opinion. unless the full inforamtion is not furnished, I can not give the suitable opinion.

i have doubt that if every company book salary on 1st day of next month it can defer its liablity by one month

for expenses other than salary tax is to be deducted on due or payment whichever is earlier basis.

whether same thing applies in the case of salary also?
