as per income tax act tds deducted as the time of payment or credit whichever is earlier but in the case of tds on salary tds deducted at the time of payment only why.what is the mischief of this rule.

Probably there is no significant difference between the date of credit & date of payment in case of salary, where as there can be significant difference in other cases.

no as i concern as per section 192 tds is deducted at the time of payment or credit whichever is earlier
