Hey! For your situation with TDS on salary and filing returns:
* You **cannot file NIL TDS returns** with salary details for Q1, Q2, Q3 if you actually paid salaries but did not deduct any TDS.
* Instead, you should **file one consolidated TDS return for the full financial year**, including all salary details for Q1, Q2, Q3 (with zero TDS deducted) and Q4 (with TDS deducted).
This way, the return accurately reflects salary payments and TDS deducted (or not deducted) during the year.
Also, issue **Form 16 only to those employees from whom TDS was actually deducted**. For employees with no TDS deducted (because income was below tax slab), you donโt need to issue Form 16.
In summary:
* File one complete annual TDS return (for all four quarters combined). * Include salary details for all employees each quarter. * Show TDS deducted in Q4 for relevant employees. * Issue Form 16 only for employees with TDS deducted.
If you need help preparing the TDS return or Form 16, just ask!
