29 October 2012 Notary charges is paid to the advocate-in which section the TDS should be deducted-in Contractor (194 C) or in Professional (194 J)

30 October 2012 I agree with your comment Mr Vaibhav, but the advocate himself is arguing for deduction of TDS under Contractor and not under Professional.. so how should I convince him for the same????

Can you provide me the reason argued by him..

Since by notarising docy=ument he is parting with professional services & he is not performing a work as specified u/s 194C.

30 October 2012 Actually he is saying that for each other institution he is deducting TDS under Section 194 C and not under 194 J, so don't deduct TDS under 194 J

For that you hace to enter in to an agreement with him, wherin it need to be specifically mention that "It is Contract for perfoming Natary Services" by the company.

Please note Invoice should be raised by the Company of advocates & not by an individual.
