Tds certificate form 16a

24 May 2013 Last year my bank issued to me quarterly certificates for TDS and each had a 6 digit unique certificate number. This year the unique certificate number is not there on the quarterly certificates and I am not able to see links in Traces to print TDS certificate. Has the system of generating certificate online been dispensed with?

25 May 2013 Thanks. Although bank has given me the TDS certificate for 3 quarters that had TDS done in them and they are printouts, they do not bear a unique certificate number. The amounts are reflecting a 'F' on the traces website but as a PAN holder I am unable to find a link to download certificate myself. Last year when instead of traces there was tin.nsdl, we were able to download Form 16A giving the unique certificate number. i searched all over my login in traces and just cannot find such a link anymore. Therefore i was wondering if they dispensed with the unique certificate number for downloading certificates by the deductee.

Also in the ITR1 and ITR 4S the unique certificate numbers for Form 16A are black fields (not compulsory to fill) and sheet validates as OK. Therefore if there is no unique sertificate number will return get processed for AY 2013-14?

14 July 2013 Since you can down load AS 26 which is available on incometaxindiaefiling site in your account the same can be verified with the TDS certificate as issued by the bank and at the same time with the TIN Number of the bank you can down load TDS certificate from NSDL
