i am working for a builders and developers. i just want to confirm what TDS rate is applicable if we give any piece work like compound wall etc.... on with material basis to a individual...

1% or 2%

kindly let me know as soon as possible

04 August 2011 TDS will apply 1% if the non corporate contractor, if corporate contractor need to deduct 2%

if the contractor raised bill separately for labour and material then TDS apply only on labour
otherwise on total bill value
