I want to know the current rate of TDS agaisnt a sub contractor

TDS for subcontractor is deducted u/s 194C.
In case of Individual/HUF, -1% and any other Person - 2%.
In case of transporter sub contractor, It is NIL if PAN No. is Quoted otherwise the normal rates wil apply.

before 1-10-09 there was difference but now same as contractor. if payment is made to individual or HUF then 1% elase 2%.
in transporter of goods cases if PAN is avaliable then no TDS. But if they didn't provide TDS till 31-3-10 same rate i.e. 1% or 2% but after 1-4-10 it will be 20%.
