29 May 2009 Hi, Pls tell is there any procedure of surrendering of TAN No. since I does not need it at all now.

30 May 2009 Board has not laid the procdure to surrender TAN/PAN. One may write to the jurisdictional TDS AO with copies to the Board, DIT(Systems) and NSDL to complete his/her papers to avoid any penalty, etc.

It is seen even after informing the TDS AO and others notices are being received from NSDL to file e-TDS returns. There is no clarity on the issue. The Board should spell procedure to surrender PAN & TAN.
