Dear friends
is tds applicable in case of rent contract if yes then plz mention the rate.

it depends on contract, that is which thing is to be taken on rent and the amount of rent.

TDS rate is 2% in case of rent for plant, machinery and equipment and 10% in other cases like building etc

In addition to Rates mentioned above please note that applicable section is 194I and threshold limit is Rs 180000 per annum.
