Sir,
Can a Board of Director of private Company appoint a normal Director in Board Meeting other than additional director,alternate,casual vacancy and nominee director.
If there is any provision in company law please provide me reference for the same as in my case Board has appointed a executive director without giving him status of additional director.

Yes, the Board has power to appointment of director in the capacity of MD/WTD also. You can appoint him in other case as you mentioned have power of Board to appoint director.
Except the above, the Board have no power to appoint director.

The Board cannot not appoint Director , it can appoint additional director then the same can be appointed as a Director either in the ensuing EGM/AGM as the case may be
