Tax Payment on Salary

28 September 2008 I am receiving salary from US company. Company has not yet started the office in India and hence not applied for Tan or Pan. Can we pay tax against the salary that we are receiving from US with our PAN no (Individual)? Or it is a responisbility of Employer?

28 September 2008 as per understanding as you are receving the salary in india,that has become your source of incomeif they have not deducted doesn't mean that you should not pay tax so please calulate your source of income after taking necessary deduction and pay the tax amount before filing your returns

28 September 2008 Basically, the bankers will not accept your TDS deposits without quoting the Co's PAN or TAN No.

28 September 2008 It is basic responsibility of employer but one cant escape tax in ground of employer responsbility better u deposit tax as self assessment in your PAN
