Tax payment error

15 September 2025 I had paid tax for the financial year 2024-25 in income tax login using net banking. The payment has been successful but in the generated challans tab, it is showing payment initiated along with CRN. What should I do and what details should I fill in my for of the tax paid?

15 September 2025 If the payment has been deducted from your bank account, Add the challan details in tax payment tab & file return (as today being last date, you cannot wait anymore).

15 September 2025 What details of challan should I fill? I only have the CRN OF CHALLAN AND BANK REFERENCE NUMBER

15 September 2025 Yes, BSR code amount & date are usually required in the tab.

You will get time to revise the return till 31st December; if you require to correct any mistake.

15 September 2025 But challan pdf not generated so I don't have bsr number or challan serial number. I the challan generated tab only CRN number is given , payment has been deducted from bank. what details should I enter

15 September 2025 Today file return with 'pay later' option. Later on you may revise it as soon as you get the challan details.

16 September 2025 I had filed the return yesterday (15-9-25) with pay later . challan status is still the same in my efiling login. The amount has been debited from my account, showing success and processed but challan still not generated. What should I do?

16 September 2025 Wait till it gets reflected in the system. Once it appears in IT site like AIS (maximum 4/5 working days)... revise the return with the challan details.
