Tax paid twice by mistake

31 March 2016 i have paid tax and filled return of income for A.Y 2014-15 ,But by mistakely i again paid Rs 10,000/- tax extra for the same Assessment year. What can i do to get the refund of the same??

31 March 2016 File revised return.
Else contact your jurisdictional Income Tax officer and ask to EDIT this challan to current year i.e. financial year 2015-16. Once this is done, you can claim the said tax in current year's ITR

31 March 2016 So what? After doing e payment only follow the advice given by me in reply. The Income Tax officer of your jurisdiction has the power to EDIT the e filed challan. Be sure you need to do some leg work for that. IT dept does not give any kind of goody goody or red carpet welcome for such cases. But do contact the officer and convince the genuineness of your mistake. He is duty bound to EDIT the challan.
