16 June 2014 I hav paid self assessment tax of Rs,38,116/- for A.y 2013-14 & filed my return... Thn, again I paid Rs.18,036/- as self assessment tax for A.y 2013-14 instead of paying fr A.y 2014-15.. Nw hw to file my return of income fr A.y 2014-15?? plz help... waiting fr ur reply??

16 June 2014 you need to make a correction in challan for self assessment tax and rectify it as for ay 14-15 and then u file return.

16 June 2014 two ways:

1. already suggested by Tushar (which is logical and the absolutely correct way of filing the return. but nonetheless long and tedious because AOs are normally slow on such requests

2. alternative way is to revise the TDS return for AY 2013-14 include the details of challan already filed. This will take 3-4 months from here to get refund of the tax. and pay the tax for AY 2014-15 separately. through this route, though there is time value of money loss on the money that lies with tax department during the interim. but it saves you from needless harassment of going to tax office repeatedly. given the amount of tax involved, this could be a better approach.
