27 December 2014 Mr.X lives in a flat with his mother, father and sister, father & mother being the owner of the house.
Can Mr.X pay rent and maintenance to his mother to claim allowance as HRA???

Please answer its urgent!!

27 December 2014 Actually there is no clarity on this yet..If we stick to law we cant claim HRA on fathers house.But in general practice Companies are giving HRA exemption on rent receipts of fathers house also.
