Tax on election duty honorarium/remuneration

18 September 2014 Dear All,

Can anyone let me know if honorarium/remuneration received from election duty is a taxable income or not?

Please do the needful.

18 September 2014 should be taxable as it is not exempted under income-tax act.

Further, govt issues internal circulars directing all employees receiving such honorarium to ensure that they report this income to their DDO to TDS computation.
