23 June 2010 Dear Sir,

We paid transportation charges both inward & outward freight to some tempo/truck drivers in cash who doesnt issue consignment note .The payment in some case in less than rs 750 and above rs 750 in other case.whether any gta liability accrued to us.

GTA liability arises only in case of service provided by Transport Agents and not by Truck owners/Truck operators. Finance Minister's budget speech of Finance(No. 2), Act, 2004 may be referred.

No tax liability in case of freight < Rs. 750/-
