15 June 2015 Dear Expert,
We are registered Dealer under Tamilnadu Vat Act, have purchased one godown in Chennai and want to deliver the goods to parties at the that premises.

My query is, whether do I need to amend My VAT RC and intimate to Sales Tax Dept.

If yes then please provide us the procedure for the same.

Can I do it through online mode or Have to submit Physical request.

Please Reply Its Very Urgent.

26 July 2025 To amend your VAT Registration Certificate (RC) under the Tamil Nadu VAT Act due to the addition of a new godown for delivery purposes, follow these steps:

✅ Step-by-Step Procedure for RC Amendment
1. Download Amendment Form
Obtain Form A1 (Application for Amendment in the Registration Certificate under VAT) from the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department website:

2. Complete the Form
Fill in the necessary details, including:

Dealer's Name and TIN

Existing and New Address (for the godown)

Nature of Amendment (e.g., addition of place of business)

3. Prepare Supporting Documents
Gather the following:

Proof of Ownership or Lease Agreement for the new godown

Copy of Existing VAT Registration Certificate

Any other documents as specified in the form

4. Submit the Application
Online Submission:

Access the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department's e-Services portal:
