i have shop of suiting, shirting. we also provide stitching services to our customers. what if this stitching receipts crosses rs. 800000/-? i'm i liable for service tax?

Yes of course. At crossing 7 Lakh you have to apply for Service tax number and at crossing 8 Lakh you have to fullfill all formality of Service Tax. Act apply ony if you are falling under category of Fashion Designer. Other wise Service tax not applicable to you

Absolutly NO.
Under Fashion Designer services head, income from stitching is specifically excluded for service tax purposes.In the shop of suiting, shirting -only if you provide customized tailoring services i.e.Designing apparels as per customers
requirements than only the desigining fee received by you is taxnder Service Tax. Mere stitching is not taxable at all.
