13 May 2023 Kindly advice on the procedures of surrendering PAN card of a partnership business which got dissolved?

13 May 2023 You need to file the ITR till the last date of dissolution of firm. You will have to inform in writing to the officer of Income Tax who is currently under the jurisdiction where the firm has been filing the taxes, with a copy of dissolution of firm.
The steps you should follow to cancel/surrender the duplicate PAN that you possess:
Visit the NSDL official website.
Click ‘Apply for PAN online’ option.
Provide the required details on the form like name, date of birth, communication address.
Provide the PAN details of the PAN card that you wish to surrender.

13 May 2023 Thank you sir.

The firm was almost inoperative for some years with sales below five lakhs and hence ITR not being filed. Firm was AT WILL and dissolved by filing notice U/s 43 of the partnership Act and hence there is no dissolution deed. Please advice what to do in such situation.

13 May 2023 For partnership firm it is mandatory to file return even if there be nil turnover.
File nil return for last AY, and the order of dissolution, if any. Let ITO be informed about dissolution.
Surrender of PAN can be done online, as suggested earlier.
