I have signed in the examiners coloumn by mistake in my cs final exam in one paper.Is this a big mistake.Will the institute take strict action ...I am really worried..as I have received a letter from them asking for my written explanation as to why they should not take any disciplinary action.

Don't be afraid, write a letter to ICSI , stating due to exam pressure it was happened and not intentional. It will not take any action if it was not intentional

Yeah , it is not abnormal thing, just write a written letter with proper explanation and asking for sorry regarding this
